Hi friends,
It’s been a little while since I shared a blog post, so I thought I’d give you a peek behind the scenes of The Studio Shelf — the little place where I keep my very first collections.
These are the designs that started it all. They’re soft, gentle, and full of calm colours — mostly blues, greens, and their pretty complements. They remind me of home. Of quiet mornings, garden walks, and the soft colours you see in the hills near Perth.
Even though my work has evolved since then, those early patterns still feel very close to my heart.
Over time, I found myself leaning into warmer tones. Rich, earthy colours. My palette slowly shifted to what you might call a Deep Autumn style. Think burgundy, saffron yellow, chocolate brown, denim blues, warm navy, avocado green, jade, warm pinks, lilacs, and soft whites.
These colours feel like home too — just a different season. They remind me of sunsets, woven blankets, ripening fruit, and days that end slowly.
I think part of the reason I love these tones so much is because I wear them. My wardrobe is full of Autumn colours. They suit me, and they feel grounded. Over time, I noticed my patterns started reflecting that. What I wear and what I create often walk hand in hand.
Lately, I’ve been dreaming about creating a version of the Autumn palette for warmer days. Something for summer. Still soft and warm, but lighter. I’m imagining warm whites, soft golds, sun-faded pinks, and gentle blues. I’d love to explore that one day — maybe a sun-washed Summer collection with an Autumn heart.
So whether you love the soft blues of my early designs or the layered, cozy tones of Deep Autumn, I hope you find something that speaks to you inside The Studio Shelf.
It’s where my journey began — and I’d love to share it with you.
Thanks so much for being here.
